Methuselah Cells and Other Ramblings

True to form, it's been a while since my last post.... expect nothing less from me. I have actually been collecting items to blog on, just haven't taken the time to collect lucid thoughts on any of them. Here are a few to get you by....

The link in the title is about a woman who passed away 56 years ago, but to this day, makes daily, important contributions to the world of medical science. Now, being a bit of a nerd, and trivia-phile, I was totally shocked I have never heard of this woman or her ongoing contribution to science.... I love when I get surprised like that, honestly.

In more recent news, this article from CNN discusses some research into one of the most frightening states of conciousness I could imagine -- "Locked-In Syndrome". Think "Johnny Get Your Gun" with eyesight. I cannot help but be driven to internal fits of rage at religious conservatives stifling stem cell research in this country, when reading this article.

I am up at the in-laws this weekend to attend a family wedding. As those in the know would probably guess, I do like winter weddings and the opportunity to get dressed to the nines and party is something the wife and I have been looking forward to for a while.

For the 3rd time in 8 years there is the potential for me to spend this Christmas without a job. Actually, this will likely be a blessing in disguise, as all departures from previous companies have been.

Last but not least:

There is no greater joy in life than to be looked at like this....
